Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade suffered the sixth defeat in their last seven games on both fronts, losing against FC Barcelona in EuroLeague Round 29 game on Friday night.

Zvezda (12-17) are now three wins away from the EuroLeague's playoffs zone and have very slim chances of qualifying for the next round. Besides, the red-and-white team ranks second in the Adriatic League behind Partizan after losing the last eternal derby.

Following the drop in form, Zvezda president Nebojsa Covic provided his statements regarding the current season.

"We bear the greatest responsibility. We lost a large number of games in an unusual way. Nightmare season, but we are still within the framework of the goals we have set," he said in the RTS morning program.

"We won one title," Covic referred to Radivoj Korac Cup. "We have two more trophies ahead of us. We have never said that advancing to the EuroLeague playoffs is a must, especially before this season," Covic also underlined.

Red Star still have games against Baskonia, Valencia, ASVEL, Olympiacos, and Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague and are scheduled to play versus Studentski Centar, Mornar Bar, Mega Basket, Borac, Split, and Cedevita Olimpija in the ABA League.
