Lauri Markkanen's turnaround season keeps getting better. After Sunday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Finnish forward set a new NBA record.

Although he hit just one three-pointer in eight tries, it was enough to reach a new mark in the league's history. With the triple, Markkanen became the first player to make 100 dunks (111 after the game vs Nets) and 200 three-pointers in a single season.

The closest player to such an achievement was Kevin Durant during the 2013-14 season with 146 dunks and 192 threes.

After getting traded to the Utah Jazz in the offseason, Markkanen has been having a career year so far, averaging 25.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Before joining the Jazz, Markkanen averaged just 15.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in 282 games.

After the Sacramento Kings and the New York Knicks clinched a spot in the playoffs, the Finnish forward is most likely to become the second among active players in most games played without a postseason appearance. Buddy Hield leads the category among current players by a significant margin.

With the Jazz two games behind the 10th-placed Oklahoma City Thunder and just 4 games left to play, the Finnish forward's appearance in the play-in tournament is unlikely.
