With the EuroLeague 2022-23 season coming to an end, the preparation for the upcoming campaign already began, and Panathinaikos Athens are no exception, making a change in one of the most important positions - head coach.

During the opening press conference for the 2021 Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament held at the OAKA indoor hall, Dimitris Giannakopoulos took several photos with Ergin Ataman.

Panathinaikos owner and the Turkish coach, fresh off his first EuroLeague title with Anadolu Efes Istanbul, appeared to be getting along very well. Giannakopoulos always held Ataman in high esteem and was always happy to meet with him. In fact, the feelings were mutual.

After the event was over, the Greek businessman wasted no time and took to Instagram, explaining why he likes Ataman so much.

As he clarified, those reasons are hardly related to basketball.

It's easy to grasp why Giannakopoulos has a soft spot for Ataman and why the two-time EuroLeague champ has been his long-time desire.
