Despite the contacts with Panathinaikos, the Ukrainian player will remain in the NBA after agreeing to a deal with the Boston Celtics
For several weeks Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk was among the main targets for Panathinaikos. The Greek side considered him the perfect piece to complete the roster for the upcoming season.
But despite the strong interest from the Greek side, the Ukrainian player will continue his career in the NBA.
As reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Mykhailiuk has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics.
The player finished last season with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 10.6 points per game in 19 matches with the franchise.
Since the beginning of the offseason, Mykhailiuk has given priority to the NBA market despite the strong interest coming from Europe.
Panathinaikos now will need to look elsewhere in order to finalize the roster for next season.
