Sylvain Francisco talks his EuroLeague rookie season, thinks Wemby should get more touches at Spurs

FC Bayern Munich guard Sylvain Francisco discusses his quick transition from BCL to the EuroLeague, Vassilis Spanoulis' impact, and his opportunity at Greece NT while adding that the San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama should be getting more touches from his teammates.

FC Bayern Munich and EuroLeague rookie Sylvain Francisco found his place in the strongest European basketball competition so quickly that even some seasoned veterans could envy his numbers.

The 26-year-old French guard averages 9.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 9.1 PIR per game in 9 EuroLeague appearances so far.

These are good enough to make the Top 5 in points, assists, and PIR in the whole Bayern team.

Not bad, considering that Francisco played for Peristeri Athens in the FIBA Basketball Champions League last year. Not every player gets the chance to jump from BCL to the EuroLeague, let alone with such success as Francisco.

"The thing is that in the Champions League, it's really hard, too," Francisco told BasketNews after the game against Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday. "You play against some good teams."

Despite a successful beginning, Francisco also revealed that there were things he had to adapt to after making the move to the EuroLeague.
