Anadolu Efes Istanbul won their back-to-back title by taking down Real Madrid. The Turkish powerhouse became the third team in the competition's history to defend the EuroLeague championship after Olympiacos Piraeus and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Anadolu Efes Istanbul advanced to their back-to-back EuroLeague final by defeating Olympiacos in a tough semi-final fight at Stark Arena with more than 10,000 fans from Piraeus. The last possession belonged to last year's MVP Vasilije Micic who sank a last-second 3-pointer. Legendary San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was also there watching the game.
