Slovenia has taken care of business by defeating Venezuela 98-70 (26-21; 22-20; 23-14; 27-15) and advancing to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament final in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Slovenia jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter. They led 17-6 after two free throws by Luka Doncic with 4:27 left. However, Venezuela stayed within striking distance, and the period ended 26-21.
The team from the Balkans started the second quarter well. After another classic Luka Doncic - Mike Tobey alley-oop connection, Slovenia pulled away 42-30 with 4:26 on the clock. But Venezuela refused to go away and reduced their deficit to seven points going into the half (48-41).

Slovenia was finally able to blow the game wide-open in the third. After Doncic's signature stepback three and two free throws from Luka Rupnik, they increased their advantage to 17 points (64-47).
Unfortunately, Slovenia's Vlatko Cancar suffered an apparent injury with 5:22 left in the third quarter. He left the game and did not return. The period ended with Slovenia having a solid 16-point advantage (71-55).
The fourth quarter proved to be a formality, as Slovenia continued to increase their lead and secure a spot in Sunday's showdown.
The dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Mike Tobey led the winning squad. Doncic finished with 23 points, 13 assists, nine rebounds, and 31 efficiency rating. Tobey contributed 27 points and 12 boards, finishing with 35 EFF.
For Venezuela, Michael Carrera and Pedro Chourio each scored 16 points.
In the other OQT semifinal, Lithuania will take on Poland. Slovenia will face the winner of this matchup in tomorrow's final.
