AEK Athens added force under the basket by signing Greek center Giorgos Bogris. The team officially announced that the deal is for the upcoming season.
Last season the 32-year-old (2.10) spent in Tenerife. In the Basketball Champions League, he played only one game and scored 4 points.
A big man returns to his homeland, Greece, where he started his professional career in 2006 (Ilysiakos B.C.). Giorgos Bogris played for Greek powerhouses like Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, Olympiacos Piraeus, and PAOK.
With Panathinaikos, he became EuroLeague champion in 2011 and won Greek Basket League twice.
In the next BCL season, AEK Athens will play in Group D where will face Falco Szombathely (Hungary), VEF Riga (Latvia), and the winner of the Qualification Round Tournament Nr. 2. The Greek team will start the competition in an away game versus the Hungarian squad on October 6.
