The newest member of the AX Armani Exchange Milan comes from a big basketball family. But in Italy, he wants to build his own legacy.
Grant (28, 1.96) was introduced by the Olimpia Milano on Saturday.
“Jerian Grant is physically strong, can play two different positions, and has already done well in the Greek league,” said Milan's general manager Christos Stavropoulos during a press conference.

After being selected the 19th overall pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2015 NBA Draft, Grant spent the first five years of his professional career in the NBA. His best season came in 2017-18 when Grant averaged 8.4 points and 4.6 assists for the Chicago Bulls.
Asked about his brother's success, who plays for the Detroit Pistons and just won the Olympic gold medal with the Team USA, Grant was delighted and proud. “A great satisfaction. When you play at that level, every country has the best players on the court, so coming out of it as a winner is great. I’m happy for him, it’s a result that motivates all of us.”
The opportunity to play for a EuroLeague team, as well as the chance to work with a famous coach, were among the key factors that led to Grant's decision to sign with the AX Armani Exchange.
"For any American player who comes from the NBA, having a head coach who has been in the NBA and knows the differences well, what it takes, is crucial. Messina's presence was huge.
What’s great about coach Messina is that he allows his players to play to their strengths and their best qualities. I am a pick and roll player and from the first conversations, he told me that he will put me in the conditions that I prefer. My role will be the one he will ask me to do.
I’m happy to be here. Now we have a chance to build something on the foundation of last season’s success,” said Grant.
