EuroLeague president and CEO Jordi Bertomeu officially proposed the withdrawal of Russian teams from the 2021-22 EuroLeague season, sources say BasketNews.

Bertomeu approached ECA shareholders, suggesting approving the Russian clubs' withdrawal and not listing them in the final EuroLeague standings.

Thirteen ECA members will have to submit their vote until Tuesday afternoon.

It's anticipated that EuroLeague shareholders will accept the proposal.

EuroLeague decided to suspend three Russian clubs, CSKA Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg, and UNICS Kazan, at the ECA shareholders meeting of February 28.

All shareholders agreed to reconsider their participation until March 21.
