After winning Game 2 of the Italian league finals against Armani Exchange Milan, Virtus Bologna has now tied the series and will go to Milan for Game 3.

But if there's still another goal to reach on the court, that doesn't mean that Virtus is standing still on the market. The team owned by Massimo Zanetti has been actually pretty active in the last few days.

Virtus Bologna is edging closer to securing two deals, multiple sources have told BasketNews.

American big man Jordan Mickey has reached an agreement with the Italian side, and although a strong competition from other clubs, including Fenerbahce, he'll be one of the firsts reinforcements for coach Sergio Scariolo, sources have told BasketNews.

Mickey had a strong season with Russian side Zenit and was also named MVP of the VTB League finals, in which Zenit prevailed and won their first title ever.

The other addition that Virtus is finalizing is the one related to the Italian shooting guard Amedeo Della Valle

The former Armani Exchange Milan guard was one of the best players in the Italian league this season, averaging 18 points and 4 assists per game with Germani Brescia, while shooting 40% from three-point.

Della Valle recently decided to pay personally a buyout to get out of the contract with Brescia and explore the market for a EuroLeague club. A deal between Della Valle and Virtus Bologna is imminent, multiple sources have told BasketNews, and the player was specifically requested by coach Sergio Scariolo, another source told BasketNews.

The Italian side remains vigilant on the market, especially for potential additions in the frontcourt. Achille Polonara, currently under contract with Fenerbahce, and NBA veteran Serge Ibaka are two profiles that the team is following with interest.

Ibaka is a free agent after finishing the season with the Milwaukee Bucks. He has already worked with coach Sergio Scariolo with the Spanish NT and with the Toronto Raptors, where both won an NBA title.

Italian forward Achille Polonara signed a 2+1 deal with Fenerbahce last summer but his season with the Turkish side hasn't been particularly productive so far and his continuity with the team remains uncertain.
