Valencia Basket have their first big signing of the 2022 EuroLeague offseason.
The club has officially announced the addition of the former LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne point guard Chris Jones for the 2022-23 season.
The guard averaged 13.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game for 14.7 PIR for the French club during the last EuroLeague season. Jones has an Armenian passport which will help Valencia in the Spanish Liga Endesa regarding the foreign player quota.
Valencia will return to the EuroLeague after a one-year stint in the EuroCup. The team lost in the semifinal to the ultimate winner Virtus Segafredo Bologna. However, the club was gifted a wildcard for the upcoming season following the suspension of Russian teams from the tournament due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The club has previously announced the departure of Mike Tobey and Louis Labeyrie. According to BasketNews sources, the 36th overall pick in this year's NBA Draft, Khalifa Diop will be stashed at Valencia for the upcoming season.
