Virtus Segafredo Bologna have officially announced their first signing of the 2022 offseason.
Jordan Mickey has joined the Italian club on a one-year deal to become the club's opening signing ahead of the return campaign to the EuroLeague.
Last season, the American forward-center played for Zenit Saint Petersburg where he averaged 10.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks for 10.1 PIR in the EuroLeague for the club. He won the VTB League, where he was the Finals MVP also Defender of the Year.

The year before, Mickey played for Khimki Moscow Region, his first-ever team in Europe (2018-19) and averaged 15.6 points and 5.8 rebounds for 16.5 PIR in the 2020-21 EuroLeague season.
Jordan Mickey was born in Dallas on July 9, 1994. He arrived in the NBA wearing the Boston Celtics jersey from 2015 to 2017 and the Miami Heat in the 2017-18 season.
After winning the EuroCup last year, Virtus are coming back to the EuroLeague after a 14-year break. The last time the Italian team participated in the grandest stage of European basketball was during the 2007-08 season when the club finished the regular season with only 2 wins and 12 losses.
Unfortunately for the club, Virtus did not manage to capture the third Italian Basketball League (LBA) trophy in a row, losing to AX Armani Exchange Milan in the final.
