The Lithuanian Basketball Federation decided to maintain continuity and kept the entire coaching staff of the national team.

Kazys Maksvytis will continue as the Lithuanian NT head coach.

Maksvytis, who is also the bench boss of Zalgiris Kaunas, will not be able to lead the Lithuanian NT during the FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers.

Kestutis Kemzura will replace his colleague in this international competition.

Federation confirmed that the coaching staff will remain unchanged for the entire Olympic cycle – until the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 52-year-old Kemzura, who is not working at any club right now, returned to the national team last year when he became Maksvytis' assistant. He will take the Lithuanian NT head coach position after a 10-year break.

Kemzura guided Lithuania from 2010 to 2012. He won bronze at the FIBA World Cup 2010 and left the team after the London Olympics.

The upcoming FIBA window will take place on November 11-14. Lithuania will play its first match at home against France and then will travel to Montenegro.

The final WC European Qualifiers games will be played in February.

Lithuania is leading Group K with 7 wins and 1 loss.
