Tonye Jekiri needs surgery, out for eight weeks

Tonye Jekiri will be sidelined for approximately two months following inguinal surgery. Meanwhile, Nemanja Bjelica will start team training in the first week of the new year.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul officially announced that center Tonye Jekiri will undergo surgery on December 22 (Thursday) and is expected to be out for approximately eight weeks.

Jekiri has been following the conservative treatment by the Fenerbahce medical staff for a while due to inguinal pain. Fener decided to have surgery on Jekiri to get rid of the discomfort, via the report.

Jekiri averages 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.3 PIR over 14 EuroLeague games this season.

Nemanja Bjelica, who is yet to play a game this season, is another missing piece for Fenerbahce. According to the team's announcement, he continues the treatment process following his calf injury. The Serbian player is planning to start team training in the first week of the new year.
