The 31-old forward Achille Polonara is joining the club with a deal that will keep him in Zalgiris until the end of the season. BasketNews earlier reported about the two sides being in the final stages of the negotiations.
The 203 cm tall Italian is making a move to Kaunas from Anadolu Efes Istanbul, where another Zalgiris' addition Isaiah Taylor also has played this season.
EuroLeague champions were using Polonara for 11 minutes per game, while he averaged 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds.
The member of the Italian national team had much better statistics just two seasons ago in Baskonia Vitoria, where he was making 12.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. The latter was the second result among all EuroLeague players.
After two years in Vitoria, Polonara signed for Fenerbahce Istanbul last season and moved to Anadolu Efes last summer.
