Matt Thomas is on the verge of joining Panathinaikos after the Greek club made the offer to an American sharpshooter.
Panathinaikos Athens have made an offer to a sharpshooter Matt Thomas, George Zakkas from SDNA reports.
The details of the offer are unknown, but the Panathinaikos board gave the green light to make the signing. Thomas is at the top of head coach Dejan Radonjic's wishlist.
Thomas spent the last three seasons in the NBA, playing for the Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Chicago Bulls. Last season he averaged 4.0 points (38.5 3P%), 1.3 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 40 games with the Bulls.
Overall, Thomas made 126 appearances in the NBA, averaging 4.0 points (40.4 3P%), 1.2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.
Before his move to the NBA, Thomas played for Obradoiro and Valencia Basket, with which he won the EuroCup in 2019.
In his only EuroCup campaign in the 2018-19 season, Thomas averaged 12.7 points (47.7 3P%), 1.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 11.0 PIR.
