2-time Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer and multiple national leagues' winner Keith Langford announced his retirement.

Langford made a post on Twitter, stating that the recent surgery on his Achilles was the final and decisive factor.

"May of 2022, I had surgery for an Achilles tendinopathy that, for the previous 10 months, I tried to conservatively rehabilitate. In what turned out to be an extremely trying time period, I was consumed by denial, anger, depression, and bargaining.

Weight: 98 kg
Birth place: Texas, United States of America

After 17 years and the age of 38, I selfishly denied the last stage of grief that I knew was upon me. Acceptance. That being said, I humbly & excitedly accept an invitation to participate in The Basketball Tournament with MassStreetTBT.

I couldn’t be in a better space to announce my RETIREMENT from basketball and have this full circle moment to play for the last time in the representation of Kansas Men's Basketball.

I’ve given everything physically and mentally I have to this game. 6 knee surgeries, a herniated disc, a broken foot, a broken nose, a broken finger, hamstring/groin strains, and not to mention an unlimited amount of ankle sprains have all been worth it!!

The journey has been the best part as well as the part I’ll miss most Can’t wait to play one last time this July and phase into the next part of life…," Langford wrote on Twitter.

Langford went undrafted but still found his way into NBA, making two appearances for the San Antonio Spurs.

Langford's last team was AEK Athens, for which he played from 2019 until 2022. Although he didn't start the 2021-22 season, he reached an agreement with the Greek club to finish the campaign.

However, after making only four appearances, he was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Throughout his career, Langford became EuroLeague Top Scorer twice (2014 and 2017) and was selected into All-EuroLeague First Team in 2014.

He was also named FIBA Champions League MVP in 2020 and became EuroCup Top Scorer in 2016.
