Panathinaikos didn't opt-in on Paris Lee's contract for the 2023-24 season, thus rendering the American guard a free agent.
Paris Lee's tenure at Panathinaikos Athens was completed and after a season in the Greek capital, the American guard no longer belongs to the Greens.
The news came in the form of a social media post where PAO thanked the player for his contribution. The club stressed that it was an honor for the two sides to work together and wished him well in his career.
Lee, 28, came to Panathinaikos in the summer of 2022 on a 1+1 deal. However, the Greek side decided to opt out of the second season and render the former AS Monaco guard a free agent.
Lee played in 33 out of Panathinaikos' 34 EuroLeague games, starting in almost half of them (17) and averaging 9.1 points, 3.1 assists and 1.6 rebounds (8.6 in PIR). Moreover, he averaged 11.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals in the Greek league.
According to SDNA's Giorgos Zakkas, Hapoel Jerusalem are among the teams that have approached him.
