Ponitka joins Partizan on a two-year deal with the second year being an option.
After a year in Greece, Polish forward Mateusz Ponitka will continue his career in Serbia.
Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade officially announced that the 29-year-old player is joining the team on a two-year deal. The second year is an option, Mozzart Bet write.
Ponitka spent the last season with Panathinaikos Athens. In 27 games in the EuroLeague last year, he averaged 8.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals for 13.0 PIR in 25 minutes per game.
In a similar amount of playing time, Ponitka averaged 9.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1 steal for 12.3 PIR.
Ponitka becomes the second newcomer this offseason for Partizan after Ognjen Jaramaz. Partizan have also extended contracts with two of their last year's leaders - Kevin Punter and Zach LeDay - and kept Aleksa Avramovic on a new deal.
