BCL MVP moves to France

TJ Shorts joins Paris Basketball.

TJ Shorts, the reigning BCL Final Four and Regular Season MVP, will continue his career in Paris Basketball and EuroCup next season, according to the official announcement.

Led by Shorts, Telekom Baskets Bonn became the BCL's fifth champion last season after Lenovo Tenerife (2 titles), AEK Athens, Virtus Bologna, and San Pablo Burgos (2 titles).

Shorts, 25, scored a game-high 29 points and delivered three assists for a PIR of 23 in the victorious final against Hapoel Jerusalem.

He averaged 19.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 16.8 PIR over 17 BCL games in 2022-23.

His professional career started in Europe in 2019 with Ventspils. Shorts then landed in Hamburg Towers, played in Crailsheim Merlins, and eventually joined Bonn in the summer of 2022.

Before Shorts' move to Paris, his Bonn teammates -- Sebastian Herrera, Collin Malcolm, Tyson Ward, Michael Kessens, and Leon Kratzer -- have also joined the French team. In addition, head coach Tuomas Ilsalo has made the same transfer.
