Brazil, Greece, Spain, and Puerto Rico became the latest countries that will participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics and its basketball tournament.
They joined France, Australia, South Sudan, Japan, Team USA, Canada, Serbia, and Germany which qualified for the Olympic basketball tournament through the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
France secured its place as the host nation despite being eliminated early from the FIBA World Cup 2023 title contention.
Meanwhile, Australia, South Sudan, Japan, Team USA, Canada, Serbia, and Germany got their Olympic berths, becoming the best teams from Oceania, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe, respectively.
There are only 12 spots in the 2024 Paris Olympics, and only 1 ticket remains after all 8 teams that qualified for the Olympics through FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 have been confirmed and three Olympic Qualifying tournaments have concluded.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece also secured the 2024 Paris Olympics berth after beating Croatia in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying final in Piraeus, Greece.
Brazil also became one of the latest countries to secure a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympic basketball tournament after winning the FIBA Olympic Qualifiers tournament in Latvia.
Spain followed in the footsteps of Greece and Brazil, clinching their spot in the Olympics. They won the FIBA OQT on their home soil, edging out the Bahamas, led by Deandre Ayton, Buddy Hield, and Eric Gordon.
Puerto Rico punched the last ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics after beating Lithuania, thanks to Jose Alvarado's 23-point performance.
