Polonara played in the EuroLeague opener against Zalgiris Kaunas, finishing the game with 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 2 PIR in 10 minutes of play.
Polonara joined Virtus on a 2-year deal this summer after finishing the 2022-23 campaign with Zalgiris.
In 2022, German football club Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller was diagnosed with a malignant testicular tumor. He underwent two surgeries and four cycles of chemotherapy to control the spread of the disease.
He managed to make a full recovery and continues playing for Borussia to this day.
