FC Bayern Munich center Serge Ibaka denied that he signed a deal with Real Madrid and lamented the breakout of the rumors.
Serge Ibaka, the Spanish star who transferred to FC Bayern Munich at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, denied that he signed a deal with Real Madrid.
In remarks to BIG's Robert Heusel, Ibaka not only said that he did not sign a deal with Real Madrid, but he also criticized the rumors.
"No, come on! For me, it was disappointing that these rumors came out while I still was playing the playoffs," the center said, referencing the BBL playoffs that Bayern Munich won. "I didn't like that. It seems to be the way how things work here in Europe."
Despite his disappointment, Ibaka also revealed that he has offers from other teams.
"I have offers from other teams, but I have not decided yet. I always want to finish things first before thinking about the next ones," he noted.
After returning to the EuroLeague from the NBA, Ibaka averaged 12.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game in the 2023-24 season with Bayern.
