Kyle Milling, a 49-year-old American head coach who won the Japan B League last season, is expected to take over the Gunma Crane Thunders, sources tell BasketNews.
Milling has been coaching the Hiroshima Dragonflies since 2021. Last season, he won the Japan B League and secured 3rd place in the FIBA Asia Basketball Champions League.
Milling started his career in Japan in 2020 with the Yokohama B-Corsairs.
His European basketball experience includes head coaching positions with Limoges (2017-2019) and Toulon Basket (2015-2017).
Gunma was promoted to the B League in 2021 after many years in a lower division, but it did not reach the playoffs last season.
Former EuroLeague players Ben Bentil and Kaleb Tarczewski were on the Crane Thunders' roster last season, with Tarczewski extending his deal for the 2024-25 season.
