After some weeks of waiting, Andres Feliz has finally been announced by Real Madrid.
Andres Feliz is officially a Real Madrid player for the next 3 seasons. The club has made official the signing of the Dominican point guard, 26, who has played the last three seasons at Joventut Badalona.
Last season, he averaged 15 points, 4.3 rebounds and a 16.9 rating in 28 ACB games. In the EuroCup, Feliz produced 14.7 points, 5.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds and a rating of 19.6. Feliz's arrival at Real Madrid comes after the departure of Sergio Rodríguez (who announced his retirement) and Carlos Alocen, who will play at Gran Canaria. Hence, he's destined to become Facundo Campazzo's backup in the game direction of Chus Mateo's team.
Feliz played at Northwest Florida State College between 2016 and 2018. During his sophomore season, where he averaged 20 points, 6.1 assists and 5.7 rebounds, thanks to which he earned one of the spots on the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) All-American first team. In 2018, he entered the University of Illinois, where he played until 2020. During his time there, he averaged 9.6 points, 2.6 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
Afterwards, he went overseas to join CB Prat in the Liga LEB Plata. His promotion to the ACB came with Joventut Badalona in July 2021.
A few days ago, while in the Dominican Republic training camp, he made it clear that he was very excited about the possibility of playing under Mateo.
“It's a club that has a lot of history, a lot of talent, an incredible public. For me it would be a big step in my career because playing for a club like this, with so much recognition, that always competes in all the important events and is always winning titles, would be important," he said.
