Marek Blazevic close to signing with BC Wolves

Marek Blazevic, who was third in the EuroLeague Rising Star 2022 voting by head coaches, next to Rokas Jokubaitis and Victor Wembanyama, is nearing an agreement with BC Wolves TwinsBet, according to sources.

The 22-year-old big man Marek Blazevic is close to signing with the EuroCup-bound BC Wolves TwinsBet Vilnius, sources tell BasketNews.

The 2.09-meter tall center is nearing a one-year agreement with the Lithuanian club.

BC Wolves TwinsBet will play in EuroCup Group A next season, competing against Hapoel Tel Aviv, Gran Canaria, Joventut Badalona, Ratiopharm Ulm, Buducnost Podgorica, Besiktas Istanbul, Bahcesehir Istanbul, Dolomiti Energia Trento, and Trefl Sopot.

Blazevic spent the last two seasons with Monbus Obradoiro, averaging 7.5 points (66.4% 2FG) and 3.9 rebounds in less than 15 minutes per game in the Spanish basketball league.

In his highest-scoring game of the ACB season, Blazevic recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds in a win against Joventut Badalona.

He also had a 17-point and 7-rebound performance against Basketball Champions League (BCL) winners Unicaja Malaga.

In the 2021-22 EuroLeague season with Zalgiris Kaunas, Blazevic posted 5.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in less than 11 minutes of action. Mid-season, he had a 10-game stretch where he averaged 7.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in the EuroLeague.

Blazevic was among the top three in the EuroLeague Rising Star voting by head coaches, along with Rokas Jokubaitis and Victor Wembanyama.

He also became the youngest Zalgiris player to record a double-double in the EuroLeague at 20 years and 141 days, posting 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists against Fenerbahce Istanbul.

Blazevic played for the Lithuanian national team in the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers, FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers, and FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers, averaging 7.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 7 appearances.
