Australia beat Spain in the opening game of the 2024 Paris Olympic basketball tournament, but the matchup between the countries was quite heated.

One of the best examples was during the 1st quarter when Usman Garuba and Josh Green got into a little scuffle.

Garuba and Will Magnay received unsportsmanlike fouls for pushing each other. Green was close to the action and shared his thoughts on the incident.

"It's part of basketball. I think it's about setting a tone," Green told BasketNews. "It's not like I'm meaning to start anything. The guys need stuff to get going in games. It might not be the way I can get into games, but I know it might help out, whoever it is."

"It might be Jack or whoever's coming in; it gets people fired up. So, I think it's a part of basketball that is very overlooked. It's a big momentum and basketball is a big momentum game. Finding however I can bring momentum is what I'm going to try to do," Green continued.

Green also shared his feelings after playing in the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille in front of 28,000 fans.

"It was amazing," Green admitted. "Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect. Like, people told us [the stadium fits] 28,000 [people]. But it sounds unrealistic. Like, how can you 28,000 fit in a basketball stadium?"

"It was at a soccer/football stadium and it was a very cool, very cool experience. It's something you dream of as a kid," Green added.
