Franz Wagner and Dennis Schroder showed incredible basketball, while Germany brought France's offense to a halt, easily winning the last matchup of the day 85-71 (24-18, 24-9, 21-19, 16-25).

Franz Wagner led Germany in scoring, collecting 26 points on 8-for-15 shooting (6/10 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 8/8 FT) alongside 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Dennis Schroder, meanwhile, scored 26 points on 10-for-17 shooting as well and dished out 9 assists, collecting 4 rebounds, too.

For the vast majority of the game, Evan Fournier was the only French player with a double-digit scoring total. He finished the game with 10 points.

Victor Wembanyama finished the game with 14 points on 5-for-11 shooting and 12 rebounds but scored half of his points in the second half of the 4th quarter when the game was already decided.

While the game started with both teams trading blows back and forth, Germany finished the 1st quarter with Isaac Bonga's three-pointer to push the lead to six (24-18).

The reigning World champions continued on a good note and dominated in the second quarter. The entire first half was summed up in a fast-break episode where Franz Wagner posterized NBA DPOY runner-up Victor Wembanyama.

France's offense struggled mightily while the Germans continued to show their prowess, and the guests came out with a 21-point lead after the first half.

In the second half, Franz Wagner delivered another posterizer, this time dunking on Mathias Lessort and Isaia Cordinier.

After three quarters, Schroder and Wagner had combined for more points (47) than the entire French national team (46).

While France started the 4th quarter with an 11-0 run, it was not enough, as Germany answered back with a series of made baskets and ran away with the win.

With the win, Germany takes 1st place in Group B and will be placed in the 1st pot in the quarterfinals draw. France, meanwhile, placed 2nd and will have to wait until the end of the two games on Saturday, August 3rd, to find out their spot in the draw.
