After parting ways with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Jordan Loyd is preparing to return to AS Monaco, sources tell BasketNews.

The EuroLeague scorer is finalizing a two-year deal with Monaco, where he previously played for two seasons.

Arale Weisberg of Walla Sport was the first to report Loyd's expected return to Monaco.

The new EuroLeague regulations now permit more flexible player movement until Round 27, marking a significant change from previous seasons. For many years, players who began the season with one EuroLeague team could only be registered with a different club for the second half of the season until a specific deadline.

Now, Loyd can join AS Monaco on the EuroLeague floor in the Round 3 game against Barcelona.

Following military actions in the region that postponed the Israeli league and led several Maccabi foreign players to leave Tel Aviv for Belgrade, Loyd took a personal decision to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Despite joining Maccabi in the summer of 2024 on a two-year deal and averaging 15.5 points in the first two EuroLeague games against ASVEL and Monaco, the 31-year-old guard has opted to return to Monaco.

The Monegasque club was seeking backcourt reinforcements due to injuries that sidelined Nick Calathes and Furkan Korkmaz.

In his two prior EuroLeague seasons with Monaco, Loyd averaged 11.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.

Over his five EuroLeague seasons, he has averaged 13.2 points per game—ranking him among the top 12 EuroLeague scorers since 2019.
