Monaco rallied from a tough first half to defeat Maccabi Tel Aviv 85-79, as Elie Okobo scored 17 points in the second half.
AS Monaco bounced back in the EuroLeague after last weekend's domestic league loss to LDCL ASVEL Villeurbanne, securing an 85-79 win over Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on Wednesday night.
Despite the victory, the EuroLeague Round 2 game was anything but easy. Monaco trailed by five points (41-46) at halftime but turned things around in the second half.
A key player in their comeback was Elie Okobo. After going scoreless in the first 20 minutes, he erupted with 17 points in the final two quarters. Alongside Mike James, Okobo was one of the driving forces behind Monaco's win.

"It was an awful loss [against ASVEL], terrible. It was really a shame," Okobo told EuroLeague TV after the win over Maccabi. "Even the first half [against Maccabi] was terrible, was not that good energy-wise. I didn't have a good first half at all, and we all talked about that in the locker room, and we stepped up our energy and overall play.
"We came out with a win, but obviously, it's not the full potential of us right now. We don't have the best level, but we're taking the win, and we have started the league 2-0," he added.
In Round 1, Monaco defeated Milan. Next week, they face a challenging double-round week with games against Barcelona and Virtus.
