John Brown's agreement with Crvena Zvezda has been activated, since the American forward has successfully undergone all medical tests.
Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade have officialized the signing of John Brown III on a deal that runs until the end of the 2024-25 season, with an option for a one-year extnesion.
The former Monaco forward underwent detailed medical examinations over the weekend and this Monday, which created all the conditions for the 1+1 contract to be activated. Zvezda also informed that the American big man will be wearing the jersey with the number 1 on the back.
Brown, 32, was named the best defender of the French league last season and won two championship titles with AS Monaco, as well as the French Cup with the same club. He sustained a shoulder injury at the end of April, during the EuroLeague playofff series between Monaco and Fenerbahce.
If Brown is deemed physically fit, he could make his debut on Friday against Olympiacos fro EuroLeague Round 15. Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos won't be able to count on Filip Petrusev for that game, as part of the agreement between the Greek and the Serbian side.
During last season, Brown averaged 5.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 offensive rebounds and 1.2 steals for 25 minutes per game, playing in 33 of Monaco's matches.
