This confirmation came from Jean-Pierre Hunckler, the president of the FFBB, in an interview with Le Progrès.
Wembanyama, the 7-foot-4 NBA phenom, expressed his strong intention to suit up for the French team, reinforcing his dedication to his country's basketball future.

Hunckler said the young star made it clear during their brief conversation.
"He assured me that unless there is a physical problem, he would be there for Euro 2025,” he noted.
Hunckler emphasized Wembanyama's maturity and commitment to French basketball.
"The luck we have is that he is a young man with a good head and who thinks about French basketball and its development," he concluded.
This season, Wembanyama has been averaging 24.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game.
