Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens head coach Ergin Ataman has been fined €6,000 for failing to comply with referees' instructions during a Euroleague game against Zalgiris Kaunas on January 23, 2025. The EuroLeague has announced.

With 3:18 remaining in the third quarter, and Panathinaikos trailing 55-63, Ataman's team was assessed their second technical foul, resulting in an automatic ejection for the coach.

This was in addition to a technical foul Ataman had already received in the second period.

The coach expressed his disagreement with the decision, arguing that his bench had done nothing wrong and that the reaction of a courtside fan near the Panathinaikos bench was to blame for the technical fouls.

Additionally, Panathinaikos and Zalgiris were sanctioned with a fine of €2,000 to each club for their fans' behavior during the game.
