Olympiacos Piraeus power forward Sasha Vezenkov put on an incredible performance in the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers on Thursday night, doing everything he could to save Bulgaria from elimination.
In an 81-77 overtime victory against Sweden, Vezenkov scored 40 points, shooting 7 of 11 on two-pointers, 6 of 14 on three-pointers, and a perfect 8 of 8 from the free-throw line.
He also grabbed 18 rebounds, dished out four assists, made two steals, and achieved an impressive efficiency rating of 49 over 43 minutes and 15 seconds on the court.
Bulgaria desperately needed this win to stay in contention for FIBA EuroBasket 2025. They would have been eliminated with a loss if Germany beat Montenegro.
