Mindaugas Kuzminskas announced his retirement from Lithuanian national team. He'll play his last game with Lithuania in last FIBA EuroBasket Qualifier game at home against Estonia.
Longtime Lithuanian national team member Mindaugas Kuzminskas announced his retirement from international basketball today on Instagram.
"And this is the end of my journey with the Lithuanian national team," Kuzminskas said.
"Probably every Lithuanian child who picks up a basketball dreams of one thing – wearing the Lithuanian national team jersey," he reflected in a post. "For me, this dream came true, and I was able to live it for more than a decade."
Kuzminskas made his national team debut at EuroBasket 2013. Over the years, he helped Lithuania secure silver medals at the 2013 and 2015 European Championships and represented his country at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Now, he is set to play his final game for Lithuania in their last EuroBasket qualifiers match against Estonia. With Lithuania already securing a spot in the tournament, it will be a farewell appearance for the veteran forward.
