AS Monaco guard Elie Okobo injured his foot in the French Cup game against ASVEL. Guard played only a bit over two minutes, before exiting the game in the first half.
Today, Okobo will undergo an MRI on his foot to determine the severity of the injury, according to BeBasket. Monaco will face EA7 Emporio Armani Milan tomorrow in the Round 27 of the EuroLeague. Okobo's status for the game is still unclear.
Okobo represented French national team in last EuroBasket qualifying window. He played a game with a national team on Monday, where he hit a game-winner against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then less than 24 hours later he appeared in the French Cup quarterfinal game for Monaco.
After the game on Monday, Okobo criticized whoever made this schedule, saying it's unprofessional, and stuff like this can't happen if they want to protect the players.
"I don't know who organized this, but this is not professional," Okobo said. "We must protect the players, if we want to see them on the court."
Elie Okobo has been averaging 12.9 points and 3.9 assists this season in the EuroLeague, playing around 23 minutes per game.
