Kevin Durant is open to the possibility of competing in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, aiming to secure his fifth gold medal: "If I'm still hooping at that level, I expect myself to be there."
Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant is undoubtedly a FIBA basketball legend and the most decorated male basketball player in Olympic history, boasting four gold medals.
But will he be in Los Angeles in 2028 to claim his fifth? KD leaves the door open for that possibility.
"There is a chance," Durant said on The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis. "My thing has always been like, I wanna still be on this level that I'm playing when that time comes around. Don't give me that OG [role], 'Just come to be one of the guys, and we need your presence now.'

"I wanna be counted on to play minutes," he added. "You need me to knock down shots to help the team type s**t. So, if I'm up to that level and I'm still hooping at that level, I expect myself to be there. I'd definitely love to be a part of that, especially [Olympics] being in LA."
Durant claimed gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics, surpassing Carmelo Anthony to become the all-time leading scorer in U.S. Olympic history. Currently 36 years old, he will be 39 when the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics take place.

In addition to his Olympic success, Durant is a FIBA World Champion (2010), a two-time NBA champion (2017, 2018), the NBA MVP (2014), and a 15-time NBA All-Star (2010–2019, 2021–2025).
During his six games at the Paris Olympics, he averaged 13.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, shooting 54.0 percent from the field and 51.9 percent from three-point range.
