Hapoel Tel Aviv wrote history after sweeping Gran Canaria in the Eurocup final and clinching a spot in the next year's Euroleague.

For the first time ever, two teams from Israel will participate, for the first Tel Aviv Derby in the competition.

Yam Madar was an integral part of the team's success, joining mid-season from Bayern Munich.

After the celebrations, Madar revealed that he risked his career playing through an injury in order to help the team win:

"All of this is surreal, you see what just happened. I was aware that I was risking with my whole career playing through an injury, but that's character," Madar said.

"I couldn't sit on the side and watch the guys play, it's all of them, domestic and foreign players, we are in the f-ing euroleague, man," Madar concluded for Walla Sports.
