Paris Basketball will take on Real Madrid today in a pivotal play-in showdown to determine who advances to the EuroLeague playoffs as the seventh seed, with a quarter-final matchup against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul on the line.
Ahead of their historic postseason debut in their inaugural EuroLeague campaign, Paris star guard T.J. Shorts expressed strong confidence in both himself and his team—boldly declaring himself the best playmaker in Europe.
"I think I can say that I am the best playmaker in Europe. I say that with no disrespect—it’s just my belief," Shorts said in an interview with L'Equipe.
He added that the team is brimming with belief and ready to turn heads if they reach the playoffs.
"We have an unshakable belief that if we make it to the playoffs, anything can happen," he stated.
Paris finished their debut EuroLeague regular season as the eighth seed with a 19–15 record, led by an MVP-caliber campaign from Shorts, who averaged 18.7 points, 7.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game.
