After bidding farewell to TD Systems Baskonia, Italian power forward Achille Polonara has officially become a member of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, signing a 2+1 contract with his new club.
Polonara, with the Italian NT at the time, joined Baskonia in 2019 and won the Spanish League title in Valencia in 2020. He has also played for Teramo, Varese, Reggiana, and Dinamo Sassari while being a key member of the Italian national team.
The 29-year-old player was one of only two athletes (with Edy Tavares) that finished in the Euroleague Top 5 in both rebounds (6.6 RPG) and blocks (0.9 BPG) last season. He was also among the Top 25 scorers (12.2 PPG). At the domestic level, he averaged 11.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
