Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv have lost one more player due to coronavirus. According to the club's official announcement on Twitter, Roman Sorkin has contracted the virus and won't be available for the upcoming games this week.

The player was found positive for the virus via the PCR test performed on him. The rest of the players and the team will be checked today.

The Maccabi woes do not stop here. The club has reported that Angelo Caloiaro has been suffering from an ankle injury and is "in great doubt" for the upcoming Euroleague game, meaning the forward will not be able to help the Israeli national team this week as well.

Jake Cohen, however, will play for the Israeli national team on Friday against Germany. Following the talks between the union and Maccabi, the matters were agreed on last night between the sides. The player himself expressed a strong desire to play for the national team, which played a significant in the decision.

Sorkin has been mainly a role player this year, averaging 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds for 2.6 PIR. Caloiaro, on the other end, is a bit more productive, averaging 3.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists for 5.9 PIR for the club. Cohen is averaging 2.6 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 2.3 PIR.

Maccabi currently sit 12th in the EuroLeague standings with 11 wins and 12 losses. The team travels to Istanbul this week to play against the reigning champions Anadolu Efes Istanbul on Thursday.
