Zalgiris signed Brady Manek to a 1+1 contract.
Zalgiris Kaunas officially announced the last addition to the team this offseason, Brady Manek. Both sides agreed on a 1+1 deal.
BasketNews' Donatas Urbonas was the first to report that the Greens and Manek were in advanced negotiations on July 2.
Manek, 24, started last season with the Perth Wildcats in NBL. Mid-season, the American forward joined Tofas Bursa.
In the Australian league, Manek averaged 13.1 points (55.7% 2P, 40.7% 3P), 5.3 rebounds (1.5 ORB), and 1.7 assists.
In the Turkish championship, Manek stood out with an average of 15.4 points (57.6% 2P, 34.3% 3P), 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
In the quarterfinal series against Fenerbahce Istanbul, the European basketball newcomer averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over two games.
In the Turkish league, he made an average of 2.6 three-pointers per game and a third more 3-pointers than 2-pointers. In five out of thirteen games in Turkey, Manek made four or more 3-pointers.
Manek attended the University of North Carolina but started his NCAA career at the University of Oklahoma. Manek formed the highest-scoring freshman duo in the NCAA with NBA star Trae Young.
This summer, Zalgiris signed Naz Mitrou-Long, local big man Danielius Lavrinovicius, and Manek. They also secured the services of Keenan Evans, Ignas Brazdeikis, and Tomas Dimsa.
