Minnesota Timberwolves secure their backcourt future by signing veteran guard Mike Conley Jr. to a two-year, $21 million extension.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. has agreed to a two-year, $21 million extension, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This deal ensures that Conley Jr. will remain with the Timberwolves, keeping him off the summer free agency market and securing his presence in the team's backcourt through the 2025-26 season.
This season, the 36-year-old veteran has averaged 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in 50 starts.
Conley Jr. joined the Timberwolves on February 9, 2023, in a three-team trade that involved the Los Angeles Lakers. This move reunited him with former Memphis Grizzlies teammate Kyle Anderson and Utah Jazz teammate Rudy Gobert.
Prior to his time with the T-Wolves, Conley Jr. had an extensive career, playing for the Grizzlies from 2007 to 2019 and then joining the Jazz from 2019 to 2023.
Memphis initially selected him as the 4th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft.
