Indiana's Bennedict Mathurin out for the season

Mathurin will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The Pacers forward is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Bennedict Mathurin, one of the most promising young players in the NBA, has suffered a major injury.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, Mathurin will undergo a season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

The Indiana Pacers forward is expected to make a full recovery before the start of the 2024-25 season, Wojnarowski adds.

In his second season in the NBA, Mathurin is averaging 14.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 points per game. He participated in this year's NBA All-Star Weekend, where he became the Rising Stars Game MVP.

With 35 wins and 29 losses, the Indiana Pacers are currently 8th in the Eastern Conference. Mathurin's injury will be a big blow to the team's chances to climb higher in the standings.
