Jabari Smith Jr. received some encouraging words after asking Jayson Tatum a tough question about expectations.
Jabari Smith Jr. wants to become a better player for the Houston Rockets.
One step towards that is to seek advice from his NBA peers, which he recently got from Jayson Tatum.
Smith was at Tatum's post-practice press conference and didn't pass up on the opportunity to ask the Boston Celtics star.
"What would you say to someone going into their third year who hasn't lived up to their expectation?" Smith asked.
Tatum responded by asking how old Smith was and offered some advice from his own experience.
"We come into the league at such as young age and they want us to be perfect right away, and It's part of growing up. You're still growing up I'm still growing up. It's a process. nothing was accomplished overnight," Tatum said.

"It takes however long it takes, as long as you work hard and believe you have the right support system, everything will take care of itself."
The 21-year-old Smith was the No. 3 overall pick of the 2022 NBA draft and has averaged 13.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game in his first two seasons with the Rockets.
