The Olympic Basketball Tournament in Lille continues with a Group B game between the Paris Olympics hosts, France, and Japan.

France, led by NBA Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama, secured a spot in the quarterfinals with an overtime win, setting up a potential group final for first place against Germany in Round 3. France won their first game against Brazil, 78-66.

Japan, on the other hand, lost their opening game to FIBA World Cup champions Germany, 77-99. Despite Rui Hachimura's impressive double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, it wasn't enough to secure a victory.
