Miami Heat have extended Nikola Jovic's rookie contract by picking up the $4.4 million fourth-year option for the 2025-26 season.
The Miami Heat have secured Serbian forward Nikola Jovic for an additional season by picking up the $4.4 million fourth-year option on his rookie-scale contract for the 2025-26 season, as reported by Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.
Jovic, who was the 27th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, will become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2026 unless he signs an extension with the Heat before then.
Last season, he averaged 7.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over 46 games.
In a similar move, the Heat have also extended the contract of Jaime Jaquez Jr., selected 18th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Jaquez's $3.9 million third-year option has been picked up for the 2025-26 season.
Both Jaquez, who is 23, and Jovic, who is 21, were already under contract for the upcoming season. Jaquez will earn $3.7 million, while Jovic will earn $2.5 million this year.
