Spanish coach Joan Plaza has won his case against AEK Athens at the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) and will receive a six-figure sum, Alex Molina of Eurohoops reports.

After departing from AEK, Plaza accused the club of significant delays in wage payments. He noted that American players faced a two-month delay, Greek players endured a four-month delay, and the coaching staff experienced a seven-month delay.

In response to Plaza's statements about these debts, AEK took legal action against him. However, the court ruled in favor of the coach, ordering AEK to compensate him with €110,000. Additionally, the Greek club is required to pay €31,000 for the coach's agents and court costs.

Plaza coached AEK during the 2023-24 season, from the beginning of the season until the end of January. He was dismissed after the first game of the BCL Top 16.
