The Golden State Warriors opted not to draft Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Draft, respecting LeBron James' wishes, which ultimately allowed the Los Angeles Lakers to select him at the 55th overall pick.
The Golden State Warriors reportedly considered drafting Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Draft but ultimately passed out of respect for his father, LeBron James.
"The Warriors liked Bronny's skill set and had him on their draft board, sources said," ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported. "Selecting him ahead of the Lakers, who held the 55th pick, would've been a shrewd move... But ultimately, sources said, the Warriors opted to respect the wishes James had made clear."
In the end, Bronny was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick in the second round, setting the stage for a historic father-son duo in the NBA.
Bronny, now 19, played one season at USC, appearing in 25 games.
